what do you want?

Green button works, ISO over 6400 doesn't; Autofocus, shutter, changing aperture and shutter speed work, RAW+ is valid, as are my JPGs - this is a seriously solid piece of work. Don't like the lcak of info about the max BULB setting and find it silly to have the default settings in the periodic shot set to something that won't be accepted.
And the tungsten was set by me and it's correct, and the lens is correct and the metering and AF positions are correct and this just feels very, very good. I might well use it in anger at some point in the not too distant future. Will have to find the second USB cable and run the K5 and K10d at two different shutterspeeds for a 1/30 vs 1/100th comparison for video of stills.

That was not what i meant.
I haven't followed the updates but the first releases didn't support all the options for the K5 fully yet.
I really can't remember the options you have with the Pentax tethering program, might compare it sometime...

I have them both on this machine and PK on the other.
The contrast and suchlike for the JPG are not changeable from pktether. The menu settings of the camera are completely changeable from the Pentax original, but not from Pktether.
To be honest, I don't see what's missing in this version for use as a tool...

Can you also sync the camera (cameras) with this tool?

What I'd like is to tether to my iPad.
It appears to be impossible, though since so many people want to do it someone would satisfy the demand if it were possible.

if it doesn't have USB on-the-go, then there's a hardware problem. Since it might, there's still a hardware problem as it means someone with a K5 is going to have to go out and get an ipad and sort hardware out and then develop.
Maybe. But it sure as hell won't be free.

Nice piece of software. The Pentax software refuses to work on Windows 7 in the 64bit flavour so an alternative is very welcome!

There is a way around it, i believe you must run it as administrator or in compatibility mode but i believe it was the first one.

As an amateur astrophotographer and a Pentax K7 owner I have been looking for software that will allow me to use the mirror-up facility in the K7 remotely for critical astro photos. TK_Tether does not yet implement this function, however I have discovered that TK_Tether can be used in conjunction with the K7's remote control function (wired & wireless). Set the camera to mirror-up before connecting the USB cable and starting TK_Tether.
Naturally, this will require two cables (if using the wired remote) from the camera to the remote location, but it should be possible to electrically operate the remote function to simulate the two or three remote button presses, i.e. 1. Focus, 2.Mirror-up, 3.Trip Shutter. All this works fine with the latest version 6.0 of PK_Tether on Windows 7 Pro 64bit.
K7, DA 18-55, D-FA 100 Macro, DA 55-300, Z1p, FA 28-105 IF AL, SFX, MX, Super A, Spotmatic, S1A, + Loads of manual lenses etc.
