Pixels in Gallery

Probably being thick here, but...

... has the guidance on maximum pixel sizes for the gallery here changed?

I thought it was 800 pixels for the longest edge, but most of the gallery photos now look to be bigger than this when you open them up large (a good thing!). I've noticed one of mine slipped through with 1000 pixel width, and this size looks more the norm now.

In the Gallery (top menu) it's best to keep to 100px or so and a reasonable file size (up to 400K) just to speed up loading and also to stop the forum software resizing the image too much. This has not changed.

In the forum 800px on the longest size is what it will end up, so close to that is best. It will handle 1000px if you upload directly into the forum, with minimal quality loss, but if you link 800px is probably still best.

Although the forum limits the display to 800px wide you can link to a larger if you want. This gives the opportunity to click on the pic to enjoy it at a decent size.
