Love the rich tones, the feeling of movement is very nice, sums up the feeling of the fair. Nice image.

As Snappy says, lovely rich tones, with the lights stopping just short of over exposed. I like this a lot.
Getting there! Thanks to you guys

I think it works better if you crop the right hand half off, I'm not keen on all the stuff in the lower right corner, fence-people etc.

Thanks chaps!

Fatspider I was debating with myself whether to do anything else about the person and the fence. I had added the vignette to try and make the cluttered corners a bit less obvious (and hopefully add to a slightly gritty pier atmosphere!). I don't really want to crop it and lose the right-side horses, but I may have a go at cloning the person and fence out.

Nah - It's good as it is. The man gives a sence of scale and a sence of Place

Tim,

It might depend on whether part of your intention was to show the contrast of the ride with the 'other world' outside of the pier, and the glare of reality. The way it is, you've set it up as quite a visible clash, IMO.

Were you to lose that aspect of it, the image becomes something quite different.

Both good interpretations in their own way.

I'd keep the stuff on the right, it's what you'd expect of this scene. I like the crop as the edges of the carousel are defined.

Good points iBerg and Dr O! I was hoping to catch a sense of the somewhat tatty and tacky amusement rides available on this pier (and most English piers in my experience!). I think I'll leave well alone
