Picasa 3 Problem.

I put a 2GB SD into my laptop slot and began importing about 220 JPEGs to Picasa. It got to about 185 before the following message came up: " An error has occurred during importing. Either the source is unavailable or the destination is full or read only. (2)" The 185 seemed to save fine, so I put the card back in my camera, deleted those and attempted to again import the remaining 35 or so to Picasa. The same message came up. I'm new to this and have no idea what the problem is. Thanks for any help

Load them to the my pictures folder fist then try copying to Picasa

For the reason - I'm not sure, but I suspect that Picasa doesn't import the pictures onto local drive but indexes them wherever they are. And probably there's not enough space left on the SD card to save file(s). As Tel suggested, import / copy / move your pictures to a destination folder first (where you want to keep the pictures in the way you want to organise them). Then let Picasa to index them.

If you import from device in Picasa you have the option to copy or move the files to wherever you like (My Pictures!?).

Do you have enough space on your destination drive?

"Destination drive?" Not sure, since I'm not sure what that is. When I originally put in the SD card a box came up asking if I wanted Picasa as default whenever I put an SD card in the laptop slot. I checked yes, and now as soon as I put the card in it goes right to Picasa and the problem I described above. I'm not sure how to get back to that box and uncheck Picasa so I can upload them to another file and then try from there. I know this is a computer literacy issue, but I'm pretty illiterate here (as must be obvious.) I only have a few hundred images saved on Picasa and didn't think space would be any problem. I also put a different SD in the laptop reader and they imported to a new folder in Picasa fine. I also was able to transfer existing images (from other folders) to the original folder which wouldn't complete for me. It seems that it's just these remaining images on the card which are getting refused. Can someone please tell me how to uncheck Picasa as the default as soon as the SD is put into my computer? I don't even know where to go to find this.

Try this Click on MY COMPUTER which will show you your computer Drives and when you put the SD card in it should show as a drive When you have identified the Drive which will have a letter Right Click on it GO to Properties and click a box opens which has Tabs along the top Click on the Auto Play tab then the drop down menu on the right side Select Picures then place a dot in the bottom left marked Prompt Me Each Time to Choose Action Then click Apply
When you put your card in again it should give you a choice to select
Select Open File and View you should then be able to look a individual photo's and maybe see what the problem is

Thanks, Brian. Got that far and there also seems to be loads of space on the disk (90%+). I also have this shiny box with slots in my kitchen which is rumored to somehow magically make toast. Any suggestions? (Seriously, thanks.)
