Vosonic tanks are very good.
We have one from the stone age (well 6 years ago) which is currently backpacking around Australia. We still use it to back up our photos even though I have a net book and he has a laptop. My DIL is very glad to have it with her - easier to carry than a netbook.

Amazon UK have lots of those kind of things ...

Haven't used either of those so not really a recommendation and neither of those have many reviews. They are probably ok if just used as a backup, but I wouldn't trust them enough to then re use my memory cards again before I got home.

We used ours in Africa, and reused the cards. No problem. Certainly no worse a solution than putting the photos on a computer whilst travelling.

I came across this plea for help
I am looking into those portable photo storage hard disk things. It seems like a good idea, and would mean that, when on holiday, I wouldn't have to take my laptop or buy more SD cards.
I am looking for a very cheap one. It doesn't have to be huge (20GB would be fine) and I'm not bothered about the LCD or anything like that. Does anybody know if these are useful and worth getting?
I'm finding it quite hard as I don't know the actual name for them
