Photoshop CS6 default resize method - too harsh

Just bought Creative suite CS6 (on the cloud) and currently resisting the temptation to scream at them for moving everything! lol
However, there is one glaring balls-up in Photoshop - it now has a new 'Automatic' default for the resizing algorithm.
Automatic chooses Bicubic Sharper for reductions and it appears that the 'Sharper' algorithm has been tweaked by a typically arrogant and short-sighted development team who think we all want blisteringly sharp and contrasty images.
Photoshop has precious few choices for re-sampling algorithms, but I urge you to look into other methods, and in the mean-time go to the preferences-general and set default resize method to bicubic, which at least leaves you to make your own tweaks.
Unbelievable.
The internet will now be swamped with OTT images and just wait till Facebook gets hold of all of them and trashes them further

So that's what CS stands for! Is it better than Lightroom? Can one download it for a Trial?
