Thanks Dave. It was a rather foggy morning for the first one. I made a cheeky detour on my way to work to grab it.

The second was just being opportunistic whilst doing Xmas shopping.

The third was just playing around on a very clear night in my back garden. Just under 300 shots merged together. Couldn't get sight of the north star from there unfortunately or have anything else in the shot worthy of being a subject. However it is the most stars I've ever got with that technique.

I did indeed scope it out. I've got a few locations around Chester I'm patiently waiting for ideal conditions for. Give it time....

The star trails shot is actually quite easy to do, I leave the camera for a couple of hours then special software combines them all together automatically. Real time effort - we are talking about 15 mins or so.
