Pentax tilt & shift bellows

Posted 31/12/2011 - 17:05 Link
A few years ago I found a secondhand Pentax Bellows unit with vertical and lateral shift and swing and tilt as well. They were in need of servicing (which has now been done). I can't find any information at all about them - does anyone out there know anything - for example when they were made?

I haven't used them yet but will try them out fairly soon.

Welcome to the forum John, but you are a tease, telling us about these bellows and not posting an image of them

I think only Hama made this type of bellows for 35mm cameras. Did Pentax ever produce these?

Apologies for long silence - illness has got in the way but all is now well.

The bellows are Pentax branded,, but I've not been able to find out much about them. I'll post an image later today.

I would imagine they were Pentax bellows which had been adapted

Looking Bach through Pentax catalogue a going back to the sixties I can see no mention of them

It looks like genuine Pentax - but no serial number, just a numeral '2'as in middle image above.

Would knowing the mount type, i.e. M42 or K, give an indication of the vintage?

The Vivitar branded cap has "PK" on it, is that a clue?

The two mounts look a bit like short extension tubes to me.

Are they removeable?

Looks like homemade/adapted to me, very well done but doesn't quite look like Pentax build quality.

Interesting idea as I guess you get rear as well as front movements, you only get the front movements with a tilt shift lens. Of course the lens needs to give you enough coverage.

I've no idea of the year Barrie, I've never seen one before. Cool piece of kit though.

I'm wondering if it's been put together (very well) by using bits of Pentax kit.

For example, The box like piece with the Pentax name on it looks like it might be the sticky out lens mount from an old Pentax camera. Curiously though, the same box like part at the other end doesn't have the Pentax branding, unless it's underneath and we can't see it.
