Hopefully that would solve your problem Kris, it works the same on all Pentax DSLR from what I've seen.

I have just gone back to the original thread. I took Matt's advice at the time and bought the AF160 to use as a trigger (works well for me). The key part was that when I was having this trouble, I hadn't upgraded the firmware. I only upgraded the firmware when I bought the DA* 50-135mm lens. I hadn't really looked into it much since then as it isn't something I do often. I'll have a go with your tips.
