Pentax repairs

Tried Alan Marlow on a repair to Pentax 17-70mm f4 SDM lens but he says he does not work on them. Have found these people on the web ,

has anyone on here used them?

No but have used; http://www.asahiphoto.co.uk/ twice for the 17-70mm. Once the lens had stopped monitoring the focal length - stuck at 43mm. He fixed that. It then did it again 3 years later but that time he couldn't get it sorted for some reason - a different fault. Sent the lens back at his expense etc; very impressed. Took a long time but that was in part getting hold of spares from Europe.

Try a DIY fix by giving the SDM unit a clean using contact cleaner.
