Pentax Q Firmware update

Hi,
Having a problem updating my Pentax Q firmware. I have the update, fwdc208b.bin, on a new SD card ready for the install but every time I tell the camera to update it just says ''LOW BATTERY''. Battery is Pentax and 3 weeks old, came with camera. I have also bought a second battery but camera still says ''LOW BATTERY''. I have had a wee look online for the mains power option, K-AC115, but no luck!!
Any ideas folks?

Are the batteries fully charged?

Just done mine as per the instructions and all went to plan.
I used a battery that was fully charged, according to the charger, i.e. the charging light had gone out.

Batteries are fully charged and perform well otherwise so don't think they're the problem.

I can't think what else.
You say it's a new sd card did you format it before copying the file? could you try another card?
Is the battery locking in under the grey catch?
Are any of the buttons/dials locked down/caught mid position?
The instructions mention not releasing the lens while doing the update, is your's on and locked?
are the battery and card covers closed?

I don't have a 'Q' but have upgraded my K cameras as new software came available. All without the slightest hitch.

Is it fair to assume that the camera AND battery are both 3 weeks old?
If so I would recomend that you contact the seller for advise.

If the camera is already out of guarantee (ie second hand), and just the battery is new then I would suggest a discssion with, say, Johnsons Photopia, who are a Pentax repair agent. Deatils can be found :-

I'm not implying for a moment that the camera is faulty, but they may suggest a way of achieving the upgrade.

Result!

Thanks Barrie. Went through all of your ideas and it seems to have been the SD card! Try'd the update using an old 512meg card....worked first time!

New SD card will be in the post back to Amazon tomorrow

Good to hear. Did you know there are updates for the 01 and 02 lenses as well? link

I updated both lenses just after I'd finished updating the Q body. All went well and was over and done with in no time.
All I need now is some fine weather to try out these updates. Might have a wee wait though!
