Is this a Sylco thread?
Jessops have had the Q for a while and from 1st November I think everyone will have it.

Sylco thread?
Obviously I have not been concentrating re Jessop’s having priority over Q stock.
I must try to keep up.

You said it had a cotton reel stuck on the front....Sylco thread was a leading manufacturer of cotton. The wooden bobbins were very useful for making things, the later plastic ones less so.

I remember about 20 years ago seeing some terraced houses
in Warrington where several had used Sylco wooden bobbins
as door handles I always thought they got
paid buttons at the wire works

Sorry John, much too early for me, as I appear to have retired this week, the phone and e-mail have just stopped.

In my local Jessops the Q has the most prominent feature in the window display. Maybe that's also part of the deal they have with Pentax to get the exclusive rights for the first few weeks.

I think I should pay a visit to Jessops, and after playing with the Q and praising its compactness and very good price I will then tell the assistant I want to buy one, along with one of each lens, after his eyes have lit up at the thought of a big sale I will then say I want a Canon version, because Jessops staff have always told me Canon were better than Pentax, if they cant do it in Canon I dont want it

I happily admit to my age. And I remember making tanks from wooden cotton reels. Can't do that any more. Mutter mutter moan moan.
Now Dick Emery I'd rather forget. In fact I had until Alan resurrected him .

Oooo, you are awful but I like Q
To be voiced by David Walliams I'd imagine, camp as he can. As he snaps away at Lara Stone.
It will sell like hot cakes.

I think we may have a team of comedy writers in the making here, all this from mention of Sylco thread....
Best regards, John

I didn’t thing it was out yet, it is very small a bit like a match box with a cotton reel stuck on the front.
