Pentax public exposure

After an afternoon shopping recently with my partner in my local curry's store, I noticed the usually poorly stocked and maintained dslr section of the store had a new arrival, with a rather large, shiny surround, a advertisement playing on loop, and 3 compatible lenses on show, was the k30. Now I don't really know how long this stand has been here, but it was hugely refreshing to see.

Along with the excitement of seeing this, a short trip to asda provided me with my first encounter with the Pentax Q.

Hopefully I haven't been walking around with my eyes closed and perhaps Pentax is receiving a little more of the exposure it deserves.

Has anyone else noticed a increase in Pentax products on the high streets?

There's been a K30 with the budget 18-55, plus a 50-200 and 35mm prime on a dedicated display in the PC Worlds in High Street Kensington and Purley Way Croydon for quite a few months.

Yes, it was refreshing to see it, as for a long time I've just walked past the camera section. Made me wish there was some selection though - but better than nothing!

The marketing elements portrayed by the display was mostly around the weather resistant aspect - and this did seem reasonable as a way to distinguish the brand feature-wise from the many different competing DSLRs all around. Looks-wise both the camera & lenses do stand out, they emit a quality aura lacking in the similarly-priced competition.

Wilkinson in Carlisle is expanding their range, last time there, there was the K30, K5II, MX, and a reasonable second-hand collection

When is the prime time TV ad coming though?

Wilkinson in Burnley have the K5II, K30 and K500 in the window and have a list of lenses and flashguns available as part of the POS material, plus they have Pentax lens brochures on quite prominent display in store too.
