Pentax Pro Centre Warranty: 2 Years?

I was under the impression that Pentax products purchased from an accredited Pentax Pro Centre have a two year warranty.

I seem to recall that the Pentax (pre-Ricoh) website once stated that the Pro Centre warranty was two years, but I'm not sure if my mind is playing tricks on me.

Does anyone know if the two year warranty applies to all Pro Centres and if it is documented anywhere? I am having some bother trying to clarify this with a retailer.

Yep, but as far as I am aware only UK Pro Dealers, in the USA it's one year only with the choice to extend for $$$,

If you bought from one of these on the list link then I think you will be ok and if not it will be the standard one year.

I have just purchased the Pentax K50 from Wex. I contacted Pentax/Ricoh repair centre regarding the warranty and was told that Wex was a Pro Centre and therefore the K50 would have a 2 Year warranty on it. I made the enquiry within the last week.

Likewise I queried this start of the year just after my larger purchases this is the reply I received 12th Jan

Was your question specifically in relation to a DSLR? I am told by a Pro Centre that they think that only DSLRs are covered by this.

Must admit I haven't seen the 2 year warranty mentioned on adverts for a while now. Even Ricohs own web site only offers 12 months.

Why not ask Chris at SRS, he will know.

I have asked Chris for clarification. Certainly their ebay store specifies 2 year warranty for not just dslrs.

Does anyone have any recollection of anything in writing regarding the 2 year Pro Dealer warranty?

When I checked the Ricoh site I was interested to note not only that there is no mention of the Pentax Pro 2 year warranty, but that they refer to the European warranty as 12 months.

Even if the Pentax Pro 2 year warranty has been quietly dropped, that doesn't change the fact that the European legislation requires a 2 year warranty (although the UK opted out).

I can't find anything anywhere about the two year warranty, but there must have been something once.
