Pentax MZ-M lens compatibility

The Super takumar lenses are 42mm screw thread fitting and intended for use on the screw thread Pentaxes such as the Spotmatic. You can use these lenses on your MZ-M if you obtain the lens adapter K. This effectivelt turns the bayonet camera into a screw thread one whilst the sdapter is in place.
However, it would probably be more convenient to obtain a bayonet lens and any Pentax bayonet lens, manual or autofocus, will be suitable. The ranges are labelled SMC Pentax, SMC Pentax-M, SMC Pentax-A, SMC Pentax-F, SMC Pentax-FA as the mount develops.
As this is a manual focusing camera, I would be inclined to stick with the first three of these types, which are manual focus lenses.

depends on the bucks they want for it. I am assuming that you can use exposure compensation with the lens........i.e. 1stop less light=perfect exposure. take your camera and try it out at the shop there..............

Prices for 50mm lenses on Ebay are very low. I recently picked up an excellent SMCP-A 50mm f1.7 for £15.00. M lenses can go for as little as £12.00. However for the MZ-M, the A lenses will give the most functionality.

Two years ago I bought a Pentax MZ-M and I love it.Nevertheless, I'd like to buy a 50mm lens because the standard 35-80mm which came with the camera is quite dark.
I've found in a local store a 50mm 1:1.2 super Takumar lens but I'm not sure if it's compatible with the MZ-M body (wich has bayonet lens fixing system ). I've read somewhere on the web that in fact they are compatible but the body tends to overexpose but 1 point.
Any suggestions about wich lens should I buy?.
Thanks
