You can put any SMCP-A (manual focus only), F, FA, D-FA lens on it. I don't think you can use any lens that does not have an aperture ring, unless the MZ-30 can set the aperture on the body. These lenses include the FA-J and DA ranges.

MZ series bodies having a model number ending in '0' have what is commonly termed a 'crippled mount'. That is, older SMCP-K and M lenses will not work correctly except at full aperture.

Basically any lens with the A setting (PKA, Pentax A) and any autofocus lens (F, FA, DFA). DA lenses can be used but are designed for the smaller sensor of a DSLR, so most will vignette on film.

Would it be correct to put it this way then?

Umm, no, that would not be correct. The OP stated "i know nothing about sli cameras". That's a clue to me that a bit more information might be needed.

Thanks 'Mannesty'/Peter.

I read 'Pentaxophile's' post and realised I'd forgotten the 'A' series, of which I have none.

Tried to delete my post before anyone noticed, but you were too quick.

Peter
