Pentax MG questions

HI, i got my self an MG pentax, i just took some randoms pictures like everyone does when they get a new camera, and i noticed that the outer edges a few pictures are kind of blurry. not sure why it happened, but it didnt happen on all of the pictures. Any help?? link

Another question. Can i still use the lenses that fit the MG onto the KM?
i heard that they both use the same K mount so i assume that they will work.

How old is the lens? it could be fungus,

no idea how old it is, anything i can do to it?? or any explanation to why it only some times happens??

This happening where the dark outlines are against a bright sky, causing colour fringing. It's a lens defect and it won't appear on general front lit subjects. It will be particularly noticeable with branches against bright sky.

What lens is that?

I had a lens like that it was a 30 year old Pentax manual 28mm, at f2.8 it was fuzzy at the edges, at under f8 it was fine, turned out to be fungus which starts from the edges of the lens, I stripped it and cleaned it and it's been fine since. Try taking a photo under f8 and see if it has the same fault.

the lens was Pentax-M 1:2 50mm f/2, I suppose there isn't anything i can do about it then?

I didnt think that it was just branches on bright sky, kinda new to these things.

What's written on the front of the lens. It's possible that the lens is only designed for digital cameras.

thanks jackitec. how do i check if it is moldy? Because johnriley said it could be that colour fringing problem so I'm not sure what it could be.

I had a look and i can see some dust on the inside lens but i doubt its fungus.

greynolds: The lens is the original one that was made with the camera in 1980 something BC so its definatley for tis camera

Edit, this is a very severe case.

Its not a fungal infection then, must be the color fringing, but thanks for bringing to my attention, now i know what to look for in the future.

and my other question was about mounts, will the mg fitting lenses fit on the K-m (k2000) fit??

In short yes, every Pentax lens ever made will work on any Pentax digital, although you would need a converter if you use screw fit. Anything which fits the MG will fit the K-m/K2000.
