Pentax M Series 100 /2.8

what are the thoughts on this lens. I was told its a great portrait lens

US 160 dollars.

This is a wonderful lens, compact, sharp, with a very nice image quality. I used to use this one for landscapes and portraits and on film it is perfect for that.

As regards digital I have not tried it, so you would have to see how it behaves. I see no reason why it shouldn't be excellent.

As for price, they tend to fetch very good prices, so that tells us that people want them!

I have the A version of this lens and as John says its very compact and sharp.
I used it a few times on my K100D and it gave excellent results, I haven't used it for a while now as I prefer AF (old eyes)

I paid AU$260 for it.

An M version sold here last week for AU$162 link

I have the M version. It behaves very well on an istDS - sharp, great colour.
