I used to have one and it's a pretty good lens that improves with stopping down.
It's absolutely useable but probably not as good as current zooms and certainly not as good as prime lenses.

I have the A version and it is just too narrow a range for what I'd like. I'm not sure if the aperture is constant F4. 24, is just not quite wide enough for some things.

Ok thanks. I would like to find one but it seems to be the only M lens below 200mm that does not appear on ebay.

It's rare because it was only around for a short time before the A version, optically identical, took over.
It is a comstant f4 which is useful.
