PENTAX LX. Flash ot Working.

6 Months I got a Pentax LX handed down to me and I have quickly fallen in love with it. The camera was is in fairly good condition and i sent it away to get serviced. However, I am having problems working a flash. The flash that came with the camera (AF 280T) works when pressing the testing button, but not when I connect it to the camera. I then bought new flash (af260Sa) but this does not work when connected either. I think there may be a problem with the hotshoe but I'm sure. Any suggestions would be greatly recieved.

Who serviced it? Often, serviced cameras are given a warranty for six months or so, so if you are lucky you may be able to get it repaired free.

I should also imagine that it's simply a problem with an open circuit.
