Pentax Lens Repairs

It may be of interest to know that Harrow Technical do not repair modern Pentax digital lenses and Asahi Photo seem not to know what a Pentax DFA 100 WR macro is....

I had a similar problem with a company close to me ACS. They will no longer work on Pentax cameras or lenses due to problems getting the parts. He went down memory lane saying how Pentax used to be a great company to deal with, now it's too much like hard work to bother. So the DA*16-50 mm went to Johnsons Photopia. £180 later I went out shooting last week, I'm finally starting to feel the love for this lens.

A number of members have used him, including me.

Pentax are apparently slow to deliver parts.

It doesn't bode well - for me anyway. It's been to PJC (used by SRS) and apparently the problems I have been having with my DA*300mm are that the SDM motor is failing and it has to have a matching circuit board. This might mean it has to be sent off to Pentax Europe which may be expensive. I'm not happy - I've already been without it for two weeks to find this out. It's just two years old. You'd expect more from a lens at the price of the DA*300.

I have a DA*55 in Europe awaiting a part and its been there for nearly 3 months now which is a rediculous amount of time to wait.

If I'm quoted three months for the repair I will be a Nikon owner by then!!
