Well at least they haven't taken the promised telezoom or 1.4x off the roadmap.

You shouldn't let her see Top Secret Classified Information
such as Lens Roadmaps

Just tell her you are getting some nice
red rubber bands to put round your lenses

There's a sample from the HD PENTAX-DA 40mm f/2.8 Limited
in the announcement on the right of this site. K5-IIS used.

This lens is known to be soft at the edges, but the sample shot
is very soft on the RHS grass & trees. It's a bit worrying that
this ever got past Ricoh's QA? Even more so that
they put it out as a sample

The 18-55mm Kit Lens could do better

I will have a complete set in Black and a complete set in Silver please.
Black to partner the K-5 and the Silver to partner my Silver K-01.

Is that being greedy?

Nice to see a good quantity of re-engineered and new product being announced in one go. I heard a rumour from a chap at a Pro Centre not far from here that Pentax will most likely stick with APS-C for DSLRs a few weeks ago and this appears to back up what I heard. Great to see investment coming through.
Cheers Paul

If you think about it, Pentax does not have the "war funds" to launch with an ICBM in the form of a Full Frame camera. These new LTDs have somewhat applied a fresh seal of cement on their stance towards APS-C.

I think I prefer the old green style DA limiteds. It also means if I eventually get around to buying the 70mm it won't match up with my 21 and 35.

It also bothers me that they no longer state "Pentax" on the top.

I've heard the price of red elastic bands has gone through the roof at Staples and Rymans etc

Or free from your postman.
They don't come any cheaper than that.

Why did they not put in a DC motor in for quiet operation?

Ricoh is making the line up less attractive to NEW users
K5iis and a couple of lenses.

Unless the new red bands simply denote apsc lenses. Maybe the FA ltds will have another color band when they are reissued with this new coating.
