LCE would normally quote Ex Dem in the ad. Never thought about distance selling.
No not for me, I've got enough camera bodies to outlast my old body

The short warranty means it's a grey import I would think...not a deal I'd be tempted to go for.

Even their older models, like a K100D, have 6 months. Their ex demo's seem to be 12 months. so I'm thinking it is a used camera.

If anyone feels like going for it then it's always worth contacting them to see if they will sell for less. I purchased a 22mm f2 and EOS adapter for my new Canon M5 a few days ago and got £25 knocked off £180 just for asking. Not the first time with LCE either (I got £300 off the FA* 250-600mm and they only had it in a day or so previously)

There's one sure way to find out - phone them on the number given. They are a reputable dealer so I'm sure they will explain the hows, whys and wherefores of the sale item.
Best regards, John

Never had problems with LCD used several of their branches, definitely not rubbish in my opinion. If you think they're bad because of poor service then that's a valid opinion, whereas not stocking a brand is not cause for heavy criticism in these days of online trading. My two bobs worth.

LCE still show a full range of Pentax cameras and lenses for sale on the website so maybe, like Jessops, they don't keep them in branches.
Six months warranty is pretty typical for second hand. Long enough to identify an issue with the camera.
Didn't know there was such as word as 'can' tspell'.

LCE Worcester is a Pentax Pro Centre and orders placed online are fulfilled from this branch. A handful of other branches carry some stock, but many don't stock Pentax at all (apart from the odd Used item or two).
As far as I'm aware they do not deal in Grey imports. You'll find that a fair proportion of their staff are from photographic retail backgrounds and generally they are far better informed than other photographic retail chains. There will of course be variations of experience in dealing with them, mine have been very positive generally.
I believe LCE Derby held quite a lot of Pentax and it seems they are now culling their stock - I don't think Pentax is a big seller within LCE and I guess sales of the bigger names helps dictate what they stock?

The lowest shutter count I've seen for a used camera is 3 (three!), and that was presumably from the shop testing it.
I reckon it's this Digital Marketing stupidity / strategy:
- find a personable dimwit with a large online following
- send them free stuff for "review" purposes on the understanding that they'll blog about it
- even better if they act as a shill and just regurgitate what you've written for them.
The recipient is probably too dim / lazy to find out its true value and, if they're not keeping it, will trade it for cash the easiest way possible. They get free stuff that they can exchange for money, and feel quids in.
The marketeers hope increased sales will pay for the one they gave away.

Two (source: I picked it up from somewhere with one shot on it and decided I didn't want it, after taking a second test shot to check shutter count again)
