Sorry to see it's the camera and not the card. You're the first and only person I've seen with a sensor problem with the K5II. Hope your dealer just does a straight replacement.

You were lucky to get a IIs four months ago, in which case it was right off the first batch I would think. Not that it's a significant factor - the K-5 design is so well established I wouldn't expect any real teething troubles.
Best regards, John

Have you updated the firmware?

Bad luck, unrepresentative though generally I think, excepting sensor stains At least you know they have plenty of practise fixing dodgy sensors.
4 months old? Probably a straight replacement.
I contacted with service today so tomorrow I'm going to send the camera for repairing.
I also think this is the sensor problem but I'm not specialist so I am interested what they will say
and how long will it take

Yes, when I noticed the problem, I started to look for some solution and at first I reseted all settings to the factory mode and when it didn't help I updated, two days ago, the soft to the newest one (v1.03 if I good remember) .

So it looks like it was bad luck for me. I contacted with dealer and they explained me that the camera will be send to the Pentax service, so I decided to contact with the service directly. It should save my time, I have a hope

Unfortunately it's a fact of life that sophisticated electronic items can and do fail, no matter what name is on the front of it. Sony, Canon, Nikon etc. all suffer failures similar to yours. You were just unlucky but as the camera is still well within its warranty period all should be well in the end and I/we hope that it doesn't put you off from continuing to use your newly repaired or replacement camera.

Hi to all.
I started this topic so I feel obligated to write as everything was finished
At first thank you all for advices what and how to check what happend with my photo camera. In the service it showed that faulty was image sensor. I was really worried about replacement this the most important element in the camera but after waiting 2 weeks I've got... totally new body as replacement what makes me really happy in this situation. I have to say that Pentax showed is worth the trust. Now camera works perfectly and I am very happy of it. It was probably faulty from beginning because there were always some problems to get proper white balance and now everything works perfectly
This time I would like to give one advice to all of you who wants to buy a new photo camera. Try to buy it always from the "approved" shops, especially by the internet. I was a lucky man that I bought mine from such place so I have a proper guarantee. Without it would it be verry costly for me.
