My kit was stolen this am. Need to get a replacement. Any of you got a suggestion as to source, as those googled, are out of stock.

Insurance replacement? They should be informed that the K20 is discontinued, no longer available and the K7 is the nearest like-for-like option.

Surely the K5 is now the nearest like-for-like replacement? The K20D was the top of the Pentax range when it came out...

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Agreed with womble. New for old, and like for like means the K-5

Thanks, guys. Without lookig it up, is the K-5 top of the range now?

Agree with Kris it's well worth a try but all like-for-like insurance I've encountered has one eye firmly on product value. I don't recall seeing the K20 retailing for what the K-5 fetches even 8 months after release.

The K-7 is closest fit.

The K-5 is the like for like replacement. The fact it's held it's price longer after release is irrelevant IMO.

Thanks. Have checked out the 5. However, the 7 is quite adequate for my needs and pocket, as we are not quite sure whether it was actually 'stolen', until the Council refuse offices open tomorrow, as it is quite possible they, in a small caged truck, picked it off the wall outside a friend's house, whilst I was at a corner waiting for my car. Stupid, I know, but that what has happened.

I take it that's not the exact story you'll be telling the insurance people

I do not have insurance, but will get one for the new kit.

Have you had any feedback from the insurance company? My K20D and lenses were stolen last week and I'd be interested to know what your insurance company offered you.
