yes it covers me from the day i bought it then runs for 3 years in total.

I know, we're not discussing that (well, I'm not anyway ), it seems like a good deal and gives you added protection that a guarantee, or the SoGA wouldn't.guys!

Peter, I know that article (letter) is 6 years old, but it is directly related to this issue.
I just thought I'd actually look into this myself, as you mention it frequently, but I hadn't ever seen anything about it. It would be interesting to look further, and whether there actually is anything in UK law that gives a 2 year guarantee, not liability limitation with onus of proof on the consumer, but it's late now, and the clocks go forward tonight, and I'm working tomorrow so have to be bright and breezy for my workshop participants.

Agreed. I have thought for some time that the EU directive was to force manufacturers to offer the 2 year gurantee. That said, all of the domestic appliances, cars, and other consumer goods I have bought in Spain have 2 years manufacturers guarantee.

...and if we buy from a Pentax Pro Dealer, we get a 2 year guarantee too.

Actually getting a Spanish company to agree to that may be a problem though
