Pentax K-5 quality checks

i have just recieved my new K-5 body,taken my first photo to test,
checked my shutter count via; photo me & myshuttercount.com.
The shutter count is 1,
so do pentax not check camera bodies before leaving the factory anymore?
k-5 IIs, Pentax 60-250, 17-70, 100macro WR, 50mm F2,
AF50 F1.4, Siggy 10-20, Siggy 100-300 F4, ..Pentax Af 160 ring flash

Not all get tested, too many coming out of the factory. All testing is done by random sampling otherwise cost and time is way too high. It is the same with any manufacturing plant, service or anything else.

Not quite, although random sampling is he norm, in some cases the cost of failure is considered too high.
With of the motorsport we've done fuel for, every keg of race fuel has been tested before it leaves the refinery. Any that do not meet the FIA regulations don't leave. Despite this any kegs being used on raceday were apparently tested again...

And Pentax has the option to reset to zero after testing.
Pentax K10D + Vivitar 55/2.8 macro + Super Takumar 55/1.8 + SuperMultiCoated Takumar 85/1.8 + SuperMultiCoated Takumar 135/3.5 + SuperMultiCoated Takumar 200/4 + Super Takumar 300/4
Pentax K100D + DA18-55ALII + DA55-300
Pentax K5 + FA31Ltd + M50/1.7 + DFA100WR + M120/2.8 (+ DA18-55WR at occasion)

My K-5 was zero for the shutter count. Either they reset it or test random samples. A few years ago with the K20D people used to complain that the count wasn't zero - they can't win.
