Output on the TV is not the same as output on the card.....
Motion JPEG is the codec of the output, yes, but it has no effect on frame rates or interlacing. Maybe this might help: http://www.digitalphotographywriter.com/2010/08/hd-1080p-vs-1080i-videos-progres...

If i play something through the tv and press the info button it tells me what the resolution is, so if the camera is outputting at 1080p it says at the top, i just ordered a lead so i'll see when it comes

The camera appears to be recording in full hd 1080p but i have not finished testing yet, from the camera to the TV via HDMI the camera only outputs at 1080i, i'm just waiting for another card to copy over onto the pc, when thats done i'll put a full hd recording i've just done and run it through my surround system via memory stick, if its 1080p it should run at 1080p through that.
Will let you know.

Well that didnt work, codec not supported on my system.
So if it does record at 1080p how do you get to watch it at 1080p?
Bit sill as to why the camera only outputs 1080i really.
