The AF280T will work in either of it's 2 Auto modes (Red & Green position on the switch). It will also work manually at full output.
It will not work using it's TTL capability because the K110D camera uses only P-TTL and not the older TTL system for controlling flash output.
I have no experience of the Cobra D650 flash.

ok thanks a lot, I know the cobra works fine with my film Pentax's so will give that a try too. At least I cant waste film on it if it doesnt work. Thanks again

I will repeat part of my reply to your question on pentaxforums.com
It's important to check trigger voltages of old flashes. Too high volages will fry your camera.
And yes, the Cobra is safe according to http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html (just for reference for others)
