Pentax Espio 928 Error Code U7

Any Ideas on how repair the Zoom error U7 without sending it in for repair?. After you hit the power button, the zoom lens extend to maximum and displays error U7. If I restrict its movement outward the number goes down. For example, if I stop the lense I get a U3 error.
