Dear jackitec,

This is just a reminder that World Pentax Day, an event officially recognized by Pentax USA, is happening tomorrow, October 10th.

Event Details:

We want your photographs from before dawn to after dusk, in your time zone, on the next Pentax World Day: October 10th, 2009. Submit photos to our gallery to show your Pentax spirit and to share something special from your part of the world! The only restrictions are as follows:

1. Although you may submit entries at any time, the photo must be taken on Pentax Day (October 10th, 2009), between midnight and midnight in your time zone. Please leave all EXIF information intact. You may submit up to three photos.

2. The photo must be taken with a Pentax camera (DSLR, Film, or compact)

3. The photo's largest dimension should be between 800 and 900 pixels.

4. The photo should be submitted to the PentaxForums.com User Photo Gallery. Click the "Upload" link located in the navbar to add your photo. You must be logged in. You will be able to upload between 10/10/2009 and 10/24/2009. After this period, only viewing will be allowed for the event gallery. just one thing though, what's so special about that date for Pentax?

A competition might work but then we also need judging and such.
... we could make it into a chain maybe, you simply need to comment on the last photo when you post your photo.
Do you think this a workable and fun idea or are you volunteering to judge Jack?
I probable can judge this weekend so I volunteer to be one of the judges then but I don't want to do it alone.

Actually Mike you can submit up to 3 with the largest dimension no bigger than 800-900 pixels, You have to register with Pentaxforums.com first and all of the details are there. I had every intention of getting some shots but the weather was decidedly unappealing and i did`nt fancy indoor shots so i decided to do some night photography instead. Though by the time it was becoming dusk my enthusiasm was waning and i stayed in playing with some HDR images instead. Still i could always change the date on my Camera and take some today!!!Hee Hee!!!

Am confused by this thread. Was the conclusion reached that there would be a Pentax Day gallery/comp on this forum? If so, where is it? Apologies if I'm being dim!

You are not being dim, Andrew. It was a spontaneous idea emerging at post 2 and 3 of this topic.
Referring to the well known World Pentax Day event, originated on Pentaxforums.com.

Results so far: A bit anorexic.(quantity wise, that is)
