Stefan, most loggers for camera use are not so very accurate - there is no need for them to even have 5 m accuracy. Indeed I have used mine to plot where I have been and according to the logger I was about 20m off the road on occasion!
The army are not actually that brilliant at it either if you listen to all the collateral damage reports.
I use the QStarz logger. It was my Christmas present last year.

Yes you're very probable right Gwyn,
I've never used one myself so I've no experience with them but I've used these on accosion link and those are 5m acurrate under ideal circumstances.
The upcoming European system "Galileo" will offer a far better accuracy of less than 1m and you can also use ground stations to bring the accuracy down to less than 10 cm.
They will even know then in what room you where in and what floor, only too bad it doesn't work indoors though

A white K2000? Is that it?
Don't think that was worth getting excited about?!
It's being talked about on 'other' Pentax forums but not sure if I'm allowed to link to them!

As far as I know linking to other forums is fine - I've done it and not been threatened with a ban.

Any announcement of new camera models at this time makes no commercial sense as it would surely cut into Christmas sales of the K20, 200 KM ect.
That said Pentax marketing have never struck me as being very bright, so who knows.

It could be just the thing for covert shooting in the snow.

Not my personal taste either but in the entry-level market I don't think extra choice can be a bad thing.
Remember when PC's were all beige boxes until Apple launched the iMac - it didn't do them any harm and perhaps Pentax are hoping a little iPod magic will rub off on their cameras?
It certainly looks different from the Canikony rivals and sometimes that's all you need for success!

Not my type of thing, it looks even cheaper than the silver editions of certain models (no offence if you have one of these! ) - at least it's not one of those chavvy looking 'crystal' editions of some p&s cameras that suddenly seem to be popping up!

Personally I don't like the white model, but I can understand why Pentax have done it. They could have introduced a couple more colours in fact. They are trying to attract the starters market, and why not have cameras in colours other than black anyway? The girlie in me would probably go for a coloured starters DSLR if I were in the market for such a thing.
Maybe they'll bring out a camouflage green K20D next!

Would you think, it would really help for the sales?
Since when is a DSLR a fashion item btw
I really thought that Pentax wouldn't be effected by the I-pod effect, I thought pentax had some class...
The good thing is they didn't go the full all the way and made it out off shiny plastic.
The Panasonic DMC-G1 comes in 3 differend colours (nice colours I must say),
it would be interesting to know how many have bought it because of that.
I personally think that no one has bought a G1 because of that though.
The only good thing about this, is the free comercial pentax gets from photography sites and the likes, covering the announcement.
