Pentax 67, meter prism help!

Hello all!

I just got a well reputated medium format, the Pentax 67 off ebay, it included a prism with light meter which seemed to be working fine when I first received the camera.
I do not have a manual and the light meter within the prism now seems to only be working when he wants and not when I want...Grrrrr...! I thaught the ebay seller got rid of it cause he knew something was dodgy but maybe I am not doing the right maneuver, help please!

There was one sold the other day with a wonky prism meter, you haven't inadvertently bought that one have you?

Anyway, I'd try a new battery and check that the contacts are clean. TBH, I know it is annoying to have something faulty, but I'm surprised you're using a 67 and relying on TTL metering. A separate meter taking incident readings is the way to go

Hi thanks for your help, the battery is brand new and the contacts are clean, I gave it to the photography technician in University who could not work out what was wrong...maybe a loose connection...I contacted pentax for advice but they haven't got back to me yet.
I bought mine before x-mas, I'm thinking it could be me not setting it properly and it would still be an excellent camera with a seperate light reading but I bought this camera so I won't have to use one ...AND NOW IT'S NOT WORKING GGGRRRR...!

I bought an old 67 which was previously a press photographer's day-to-day camera. I think he probably used it for banging in fence posts and jacking up the car going by the state of it.

The meter in mine has gone, the camera shop checked contacts and said nothing was obviously wrong but it's just dead. To be honest, I don't find it as inconvenient as I feared when using a handheld meter - it takes a while to set up so it's never going to be used for candid or street photography, which is where a built-in meter is more essential.

I'm afraid I've no real advice to offer, other than to say that if the meter does die then not all is lost.

Try taking the lens off and then putting the lens back on. I thought I had been sold a duffer from Mifsuds. It worked fine when the bloke showed me in the shop but when I got home I couldn't get the meter to work... until I took the lens off and put it back on - works fine until you remove the prism.
