Basically I bought another rear baffle from JPTechnical for £16 delivered. Did the same as the first in terms of splitting the 2 parts of the rear baffle but as this was a spare I took a metal file to the lip whilst it was on a wooden work bench and as it's not thick or industrial metal, it filed down easy and quickly. A few goes with the file gently smoothed the surfaces. Then it was a case of washing thoroughly to remove any metal shards and drying before using a black sharpie on the shiny metal and glueing back together.
Here is the rear baffle back in and with no lip.
