A lot will probably depend on what happens to the prices of competing cameras like the Nikon D7000 and Canon EOS 60D, if they start price cutting I would expect that Pentax will quickly follow suit. Looking at the camerapricebuster site (thanks for that useful link), the 60D is already coming down quite a bit, so I think once the D7000 follows suit we'll quickly see some movement.

I'm not so sure about a possible price drop - didn't someone recently find an interview with a Hoya bigwig who said they wanted to keep prices high and make Pentax a premium brand (daft idea, but it's their company)?
I know what will happen however:
15th January Pentax cashback offer ends
Early March: I buy K-r, assuming prices don't go up
A few months later: Price drops by £50!

Hmm, please don't encourage them or I'll be hunting for the last remaining K-x instead! I won't be in a position to buy until early March.

Posted my KR form off on 22 December, the cashback arrived in my bank account on 14 January. The KR is brilliant although I am still working my way through the instruction manual!
