Pentax 17-70mm more pictures

One or two more images from the 17-7mm, taken this weekend at Loch Ashie near Inverness.

Took quite a few of the trees back-lit by the setting sun, wondered if I would get to see the 'purple fringe' appear, happily almost none. I would have purple everywhere with the fisheye in these conditions.

A bit of flare in the last shot, but expected in the conditions.

I have to say 1 and 4 are my favourites here. Number 1 has the feel of a Constable painting to me, and rich blue and green hues in number 4 really set of the almost silhouetted trees.

I think it's a bit of a shame that my eye is drawn to the purple arc to the left (lens flare?) in the last shot. Ruins it a bit for me I'm afraid. But all in all a great series of shots.

I had left the flare in the picture as an example of worst thing I encountered with the 17-70mm. I would expect some flare with the bright sunshine in the frame.

I have other images without or with very little flare, taken against the sun.

These were really test shots using the new 17-70mm, to see how it coped in difficult exposure situations, it handled things very well, so more than pleased with my purchase.

Well, as test shots I completely agree with you!

#4 is a fantastic image in its own right, let alone stand as a test image. Nice one.

I'll be investin' in one of these soon.

First two for me. Lovely warm colours...well done.

Nice series of shots....I've just bought one from the forum here even though I already own the Sigma 17-70, as with most Pentax lenses it's the colour/contrast that really stands out. If the Pentax lives up to expectations I'll be selling the Sigma

Something is bothering me about #1 (although it's a gorgeous shot): Should the surface of the water be flat / straight?
Or is it just me?
