You dont want to be stuck with a fixed focal length....the 60 /250 has very good reviews, also gives you a greater range than the 70/200!...a lens I know very little about. The 60/250,although being F4,linked with the K5 should prove no problem at all!....good luck with your choice!....Ken

You want a racket for tennis, mate, not a lens.
Sorry, I'll get my coat...

Surely a tennis racket would be threatening to break Murray's legs unless he pays up?

If I was a british tennis racket I would threaten to break Murrays legs unless he stops being a nationalist and plays for UK in the Davis Cup, with his brother "we" could win.
I'm now looking at the Sigma 300mm F2.8, 1 1/2 Kilos more than the Pentax for the one stop, phew!

are you allowed to shoot during a tennis match?
would go for the 50-250 wider & longer than the sigma, using a k-5 & its hifh iso abilities i wouldnt worry about the aperture difference...

you can usually shoot but not flash, but loads of flashes go off all the time. Some places have said no cameras, others no video, but so far they let everybody in. Almost every indoor match, the umpire calls for no flash in the recievers eyes! This is the compact users, out of flash range. The SLR users usually have the brians to not try flash.

For indoor matches a little more light gathering would be good and for this I have decided to upgrade my slow 70-300 to something faster:-
Pentax 60-250 F4
Sigma 70-200 F2.8
Pentax 200 prime F2.8
The K5 body is also giving me better ISO to work with, (approaching the problem from the other end) but which of the above lenses is "better" for the task? I cannot decide, so any pros and cons of those three (or others) would be appreciated. Budget, around 1000(UKP)
P.S. Why does she prefer my shots of Rafa, Feliciano Lopez and Verdasco even when badly exposed?
