Does any forum user have experience with this Tokina/Pentax 10-17mm lense or know of a full fledged published review that has been done on it? I just read the Pop Photo mini review, but not much detail or photo examples and would like more information.

I usually shoot a 20mm Pentax on my LX for landscape and room interiors. I realize this lense is a fisheye zoom and there will be some distortion, but how much and is there a zoom setting 14-17 that may not distort as much?

You valued comments, please?

Sorry, but I left out the information, that I would be using this lense on a Pentax DS or if I am lucky a K10D.

Hope these helps, always go into your local photo store and see if they have any in stock you can try out.

Looks an interesting glass to go with the standard 18-55 mm as allows you not to double up on focal ranges.

Best wishes,

Personally, I would save a bit more and go for the 12-24mm and have photo's with a realistic view rather than fisheye. The 10-17mm is a curvilinear lens imparting the well known barrel shape to photo's. The 12-24mm is rectilinear and keeps straight lines straight.

There is a Sigma 10-20mm rectilinear zoom also which might be worth considering, and seems to have had favorable reviews. http://www.dpreview.com/news/0512/05120601sigma_10-20mm.asp
