Pentax 1,7x rare!

I sell my tamron 300 2.8 sp adaptall2 so i sell also a pentax 1,7x, very rare that can turn a manual focus lens into an auto focus lens and it is also a teleconverter.
Price: 265 euro (about 226£)

I am not familiar with the product but it sounds intriguing as I have several old lenses. Can anyone explain how it works? How does it affect exposure or I guess you still have to operate everything else manually?

The adapter/TC besides the magnification has the ability to AF if attached to MF lenses. That's why its very popular also with people with a stock of MF lenses who would like to use it as AF. And also the quality of the imagtes with the Adapter attached is one of the best.

The only thing you need to know also is that it won't do a straight focus, it needs you to manually nudge it closer to the point of focus and then it takes over and hunts for the focus point itself. It has a very minor range of focus, hence the need to nudge it closer to the point. But once nudged it does a great job at AF itself.

Oh also if you attach an SDM lens to it you lose SDM, it will just use normal focus.

If you do a quick serch for Pentax 1.7x Adapter you will see that its well sought after. Quality is excellent compared to other TCs

If you understand:
The focus-converter has a mobile lens group inside, that move by a screw of focus movement of the camera, it is very fast you must only use a little the ring od manual focus then the converter do the af.

Actually it sounds like a nice add-on but on reflection AF is not a big thing for me and I am quite happy and used to manual focus. The main thing for me is getting comfortable metering and getting the right exposure with the old lenses. I'm glad you found a buyer so quickly

I actually do not use the AF side of it, it's just a superb teleconverter plus it allows me to alter the focal length for SR which no other converter seems to do.

The converter itself is not rare. What's rare is that anybody would want to sell one.
