Hi,

Reasonably sure this is a no - well haven't found how to if yes, but on photography course tonight, learnt that on some digital cameras you can stop up and down by part of an f no. I.e. Instead of f4 or f5.6, you can get somewhere in between.

Is this possible on the K-m?

Is it possible on any Pentax?

Cheers.

Between f4 and f5.6 you can simply select the one-third-stops f4.5 and f5, at least with the K10D it's not possible to get it in any other way.

Also not with my dads Nikon D40 so nothing special so far as I know.

The default setting for all Pentax cameras is half stops (4;4.5;5.6) with an option to change to one-third stops in the custom menu.

Peter you need to get your stops right!

full stops f-number
1.0 - 1.4 - 2 - 2.8 - 4 - 5.6 - 8 - 11 - 16 - 22

half-stop f-number
1.0 - 1.2 - 1.4 - 1.7 - 2 - 2.4 - 2.8 - 3.3 - 4 - 4.8 - 5.6 - 6.7 - 8 - 9.5 - 11 - 13 - 16 - 19 - 22

one-third-stop f-number
1.0 - 1.1 - 1.2 - 1.4 - 1.6 - 1.8 - 2 - 2.2 - 2.5 - 2.8 - 3.2 - 3.5 - 4 - 4.5 - 5.0 - 5.6 - 6.3 - 7.1 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 13 - 14 - 16 - 18 - 20 - 22

The only option you have is to change the EV scale from half-stop to one-third of a stop and if you have one third you can couple ISO with that so that you get one-third ISO stops.
All can be found in the custom menu.
