Yes, a great hero of mine, especially for Danger Man and the 'sequel' Prisoner.
I can still hum the theme tune to Danger Man, even though I was only a lad when it was first on.
Wierdly, I can also hum the theme tune to Flipper, but it keeps going wrong...
"Flipper, Flipper, Flipper the..... bush kangeroo??????

I met him once when I lived in Rye. He'd moored his yacht at the Marina and was having a drink in the Ypres Arms, where I played darts now and then.
Whilst not exactly "chatty," he was pleasant to talk to and in no hurry to leave. My main memory of the chat was that his only regret about his fame was that his father - who was always telling him to get a "proper job" - didn't live to see it.
Ray.

He was also *almost* James Bond (before Connery), but turned it down as he didn't like the image that came with Bond.

I didn't know that - he goes up in my estimation. I can't stand the whole Bond thing.
