Parc Glynllifon

The Manor House at Glynllifon dates back to the 18th century, and was the home for Lord Newborough. It's now in private ownership and is open for civic events.

There are acres of beautiful gardens, which includes flowers and trees from all over the world. Whilst walking around I found it hard to believe that I only live a ten minute drive away.

If you're ever in the area (ten minutes from Caernarfon), then it's well worth the visit.

Please click on the links below for some images from Saturday's visit (the hand out of the water is a tribute to the local quarrymen).

Hi Adrian,

I particularly like the first shot. It has a lovely painterly quality.
Best wishes,

Andrew

No 1 is my pick of them also Adrian, but I also appreciated the last, purely on account of not realising why the gardens were there in the first place. That's some Manor House! It appears that their lawn mower is out of service though (either that or their sheep are away getting shorn).

No 1. might still benefit from some treatment of the highlights coming in through the trees - they're very bright.

Thanks Andrew.

i-Berg, The manor house is privately owned, whilst the local Council owns the gardens; this might explain the difference in the lawn maintenance!

Gareth, the arm does look a bit strange, which is why I included it
Being such a dominant part of the gardens, I sort of felt forced into including an image of the manor house.

Kind regards
Adrian
