p-ttl macro flashes on the market

I am a macro photograpoher who just bought the k10d unaware that it cannot be used for macro work (as they have dropped the TTL standard making my genuine pentax 140c flash useless). Has anyone out there found links to flash sites that talk about p-ttl capable macro flashes. I have found that Sigma will have a unit available for the pentax mount later in the year. Any other leads ?

Flash won't work in manual?

try 2 360's on a bracket with Soften type diffusers.

the 140c isn't useless, it simply can only be used in manual mode. Yes thats annoying but I don't think it's fair to say that the K10D cannot be used for macro work

I've only got a non-Pentax, non-dedicated, non-TTL flash, and I can quite happily take macro shots of insects, so don't let that stop you Ralf!




With my set-up, I find an aperture of f/11 gives accurate exposure 90% of the time, and shooting RAW gives me the leeway to adjust if it's wrong and I haven't been able to re-shoot.

The AF140C works fine in manual, and to be honest at those distances the exposure is pretty predictable anyway, especially with the instant review of digital.

I could definitely feel his mozzy mate sucking the blood out my arm - thought I'd lent against a stinging nettle.
