Oxford Calling

Hi Pents

Finally tracked y'all down in the UK Pentax User - I've been virtually stateside in the US Pentax Forums site since I collected my K-5 with the two kit lenses a month ago.

Life, photographically, begun with a MX, acquired new when I was a student. I worked with it for years until I went digital with an affordable point and shoot Olympus. Finally I have my first DSLR, and what a lovely thing is it. Being nostalgic, I went out snapping with the old M 50 1.7 in B & W - it's so good to be able to resurect my old M lenses - and to see them hold up with what's new.

I am from Morar, in NW Highlands but live in Oxford now, nice place but too far from the sea. Educated in architecture, I now teach the subject in Uni. Apart from interests in Architecture and Photography, I take refuge in my sailing boat down in Plymouth when time permits. Of course my real interest is my lovely family - pity they have an aversion to my lens pointing at them.

Over the weekend I enjoyed photographing wet buildings and other stuff in the rain - that's a new experience to me, and being from NW Scot, I appreciate the WR and not having to worry about a dripping wet camera.

Ronnie

G'day and welcome Ronnie.
