I've just 'phoned Blueberry Farm and there are only a couple of SEOs and a couple of Barn Owls but very difficult to spot. There are some other birds but the lady tells me that people are having a bad year in general spotting anything at all. The fields were flooded so not many voles so not much food for any raptors of any type.
CHEERS Vic.
Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.

Cheers for the update Vic, have been trying to find out about them this year but have hardly heard anything, now we know why!

The number of over-wintering Short-eared Owls is significantly down this winter. Last year we had up to 14 at our local spot, this year just 1. It is thought that it's all down to Lemmings! The more lemmings in the breeding grounds, the more young so the more we see here in the winter.
