Down the beach with the K5 and the Sigma 10-20, then to the most photographed squirrels in Northumberland with the K5 and Sigma 150-500.

I'm hopefully looking for a camera club print entry from the beach set so C&C appreciated.

Wouldn't normally post a bird with obvious signs of bait. But like this one.

I like these - shot 2 for me but most seem to like the longer exposure look of 3 these days

I like the bird & sqiggel shots as well
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

Same here, number two has more interest in the foreground and from what i can see a bit more detail in the posts

All very good. Tough call between 2 and 3. 3, just.

The nuthatch is nice but the squirrel is very classy indeed and my pick of the lot.

Alan, I really like 1 and 2 for their peaceful context, beautiful colours, contrast and composition, and if I had to choose it would be 1 for display on my wall. I like the balance of its composition, and the way the ripples and posts lead my eyes in a circular tour around the image. Sorry, but 3 does little for me - it is as though the tranquility has been disrupted by a speedboat just having passed through the scene. However, sadly in my opinion (worth little, I suppose), club judges seem captivated by the unreal - many seem quite adept at seeing the Emperor's new clothes.

I like all the seascapes but I prefer No2, of course I am too much a shade of green to even look at the bird or squirrel

Both #1 and #2 have beautifully rendered detail in the sands but my vote would go for #2 as a a large competition print. That bird with the nut and the red squirrel are also excellent. But as Mr B says you can never anticipate what a judge will like.

Another vote for 1 and 2, and I really like number 4, a wonderful capture.
Great work!

Thanks for the thoughts so far. Its much appreciated.

In my mind a combination of 1 and 2 would have been ideal. I really like the luminance on the sand and water in #1 but prefer the composition of #2. The LH side looks a bit cluttered on #1. I feel I should have stayed where I was for that photo but turned the camera a little to the right, to lose the clutter.

#3 is a love or hate. I like getting my wellies on, and my tripod wet

Thanks for comments on the nuthatch and squirrel too. Was chuffed to bits to get a sharp nuttie at 1/80 sec. And as most know I love the squirrels. This one has fabulous ears

No: 1 for me and the squirrel is one of the best I've seen
although I haven't seen many shots of reds

I love the squirrel shot - the background is particularly nice and smooth, and the colours are beautiful and full.
