Optio SVi PICT modes

I've just bought this camera, and it looks good. But the manual isn't very helpful when it describes the PICT modes. For example, for Sports mode it simply says "Lets you take sport scenes".

I'd like to know a bit more about the technicalities of each of the PICT modes, so that I can judge for myself whether to use them or my own settings, and also just so that I know what's going on.

I couldn't find any help on Pentax's website either, unless I was looking in the wrong place.

Can anyone point me at a more detailed source of information?
