New camera I suspect unless you have inadvertently changed a menu setting

No haven't changed any settings. Shame as it is such an easy camera to use and results have always been excellent. Thanks for replying Ken

I would double check anyway that one of the image styles has not been switched on, such as Bleach Bypass or Cross Processing.

Afraid I don't know how to do that, have looked in the manual and can't see either bleach bypass or cross processing mentioned, you are obviously far more knowledgable than I am so if it's not too much trouble could you point me in the direction of how I find out if I have inadvertently switched something on by mistake although to be honest if they are this well hidden I doubt it. Many thanks
