Optio S4 Capture Delay

I had a Pentax 330 for a couple of years and loved it . So much so that Last Year changed to the Optio S4 as I loved the size of it and wanted to upgrade to 4 mega pixels.

However I have been very disappointed with it so far. Maybe I am using it all wrong but by the time I press the shutter button and it flashes and the picture taken, the subject has moved and the picture isnt the one I thought I was taking.

Basically it seems to take a long time taking the picture.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong before I give up on pentax???
