Optio S30

Evening everyone. I am considering purchasing an Optio S30 as I have spotted a good deal. I have no experience of digital at all being a P30 and Espio 120SW user currently! Is the S30 a good beginner model (ease of use) and will the 3 megapixel resolution give good quality prints? I intend to use it mainly for candid shots of the kids indoors and out but would it also would it be good for close up shots of stuff for putting on Ebay (autofocus at close range)?
